# Limit Orders

***

### Overview

Limit orders let you specify the exact price at which you want to buy or sell. Unlike market orders that execute immediately at current prices, limit orders wait until your target price is reached. Giving you precise control over entry and exit points.

**When to use limit orders:**

* You have a specific price target in mind
* You want to avoid slippage entirely
* You're not in a rush to execute
* You're trading larger sizes where price matters
* You want to "set and forget" entries or exits

**When to use market orders instead:**

* You need immediate execution
* The token is highly volatile and may not return to your price
* You're trading small amounts where slippage is negligible

### Advanced Examples

#### Buy the Dip

Set limit buys below current price to accumulate on pullbacks:

```
"Set limit buys for BONK on Solana:
 - $200 at 10% below current
 - $300 at 20% below current
 - $500 at 30% below current"
```

This creates a "ladder" that accumulates more as price drops further.

#### Take Profit Ladder

Set multiple sell targets to lock in gains progressively:

```
"Set take profits for my WIF on Solana:
 - Sell 25% at +50%
 - Sell 25% at +100%
 - Sell 25% at +200%
 - Keep 25% as a moonbag"
```

#### Stop Loss (Sell Below Current)

Protect against downside by setting a sell order below current price:

```
"Sell all my POPCAT on Solana if it drops 40% from here"
```

#### Range Trading

Capture profits in a ranging market:

```
"Buy $500 of JUP on Solana at $0.80, sell at $1.00"
```
